VALUES & SPORT

“Those who go in for sports with passion and with an ethical mind can also deepen human and Christian values”,

says Pope Benedikt XVI.

In this sense the church sees the chance in sports to manage the daily tasks of life with the help of a message from the Gospel and to create good scopes with it for people: within the family, school, church and community.

Therefore, the Pastoral Committee is committed to the development of human and Christian values of the FICEP and its associations in collaboration with the other commissions. The Pastoral commission’s main concern is to respect the national situation regarding athletic and clerical terms and to regard this as the basis for mutual, international pastoral work in the sports area.

Pastoral Committee

The Pastoral committee of the FICEP wants to communicate that also in the area of sports the message of the Gospel can act as a basis for human development.

Self-Conception

The FICEP is an international sports association that – based on the Gospel – wants to promote high-performance and mass sport, community and cultural variety.

The FICEP serves the evangelisation through its work. It receives its values from the message of Jesus Christ. Corresponding to the original meaning of the word “catholic” and “universal” also not-catholic Christians as well as heretics of the diverse national associations attached to the FICEP are welcome if they are prepared to respect FICEP’s goals and tasks.
