The second FICEP Youth Congress took place in L´Aquila from April 4 to 6, 2025, under the motto “Youth volunteering”. The aim of this congress was to inform young volunteers about their possibilities for international volunteering, to network, share their ideas and strengthen their skills and knowledge through various workshops, both personally and professionally.
A total of 34 participants from six different nations and associations gathered in Italy, including CSR (Romania), DJK (Germany), FSCF (France),NBA L´Aquila (Italy), OREL (Czech Republic) and SPORTUNION (Austria).
In addition to the official program and workshops, a city tour guided by the host Roberto Nardecchia showed the beautiful sides of the L`Aquila.
”The youth Congress was a great opportunity to broader our knowledge and our friendship,” reports Elisa Ghielmi, participant of NBA L´Aquila. ” It was definitely a great time sharing ideas regarding FICEP games and camp – for sure – but also about our perspective for the future.”
World Cafe and Workshops
The speakers at the congress covered topics such as international Volunteering, marketing and sport and communication skills.
On Saturday, Yekaterina Pozdnyakova from OPES spoke about “Youth Volunteering: Exploring International Programs for Community Change in and through Sport”. Here, young volunteers had the opportunity to contribute their ideas and input in a World Café- The World Café was led by the members of the executive committee Stefani Groß, Jonathan Collomb and Christian Lettner.
On Sunday, the program included 2 workshops one with Christian Lettner with his presentation “Marketing meets Sportclub” and the other with Roberto Ciuffini with the topic “The art of Story telling”.
Actives starts in the days gave the participants the right energy for the program.
“As a newly elected Executive Committee member of FICEP, I was able to attend the Youth Congress for the first time,” explains Christian Lettner. “In my opinion, the FICEP Youth Congress is a perfect opportunity to generate knowledge on interesting topics, to discuss them in a European context and all with a youth dynamic. ”
The next Youth Congress will be in Munich 10-12th of April 2026.
